Good evening, everyone, and welcome back to another ATL ReKap blog post. I hope you're all having a great night. Let's dive right in. The Hawks faced a tough challenge in their first preseason game against the Indiana Pacers, ultimately falling short with a final score of 116-112. The coaching staff opted to rest the usual starting 5, providing an opportunity to assess the bench's performance, and they held their own.

Taking the court as starters were Onyeka Okongwu, Deandre Hunter, Jalen Johnson, Bogdan Bogdanovic, and rookie Kobe Bufkin. They all put in a solid effort. Off the bench, Saddiq Bey stole the show, contributing an impressive 21 points along with 10 rebounds, 2 three-pointers, and shooting an impressive 7-10 from the field. Second-year Hawk A.J. Griffin also had a strong showing, chipping in 15 points, 2 rebounds, and sinking 3 three-pointers, while shooting 6-10 from the field.

Deandre Hunter showed promising signs of returning to his NBA form, putting up 16 points, 3 rebounds, a three-pointer, and shooting 4-9 from the field. Although the game didn't offer many surprises, the Hawks are gearing up for their next challenge against the Philadelphia 76ers, scheduled for Friday at 7:00 PM EST. It marks the final game of the preseason. Be sure to stay tuned for a comprehensive recap following the game!
