Good evening, everyone! Welcome back to another ATL ReKap blog. I hope you're all enjoying a pleasant end to the weekend despite the rain this Sunday. Unfortunately, the Atlanta Falcons faced a tough challenge against 2023 first-pick Bryce Young and the Carolina Panthers, ultimately falling short with a score of 9-7.

Quarterback Desmond Ridder started for the Falcons, completing 12 out of 20 passes for 152 yards, throwing a touchdown along with one interception. Second-year running back Tyler Allgeier from BYU led the Falcons in rushing with 14 carries for 45 yards. First-round rookie running back Bijan Robinson from Texas A&M followed with only 11 yards on 7 rushes.

The Falcons encountered difficulty moving the ball down the field today, managing to score only one touchdown. Tight end Jonnu Smith made an impact with 2 receptions for a total of 61 yards, including an impressive 56-yard play. Tight end Kyle Pitts followed with 3 receptions for 37 yards and wide receiver Drake London contributed with 2 receptions for 24 yards. Joker player Cordarrelle Patterson scored the only points for the Falcons with a two-yard touchdown reception.

The team struggled to maintain possession, recording 3 fumbles and turning over one of them. On the defensive side, Jessie Bates III shined with 10 tackles, followed by Nate Landman with 8 tackles and a TFL. Rookie Zack Harrison from Ohio State University achieved his first career sack, along with 4 tackles and 2 TFLs. The Falcons secured a total of 3 sacks and 9 TFLs in today's game.

Looking ahead, the Falcons are set to face Jonathan Taylor and the Indiana Colts next Sunday, on Christmas Eve at 1 PM. The Colts are currently favored to win by a slim margin, 52% to 48%. This promises to be a close match, with backup QB Gardner Minshew facing off against Desmond Ridder.

For the upcoming game, several key players will be inactive, including Guard Chris Lindstrom, LB Bud Dupree, WR Mack Hollins, TE John FitzPatrick, OT Kaleb McGary, DT Eddie Goldman, and QB Logan Woodside.

Stay tuned after the game for a detailed recap!
