Good evening, everyone, and welcome back to another blog on ATL ReKap. I hope you're all having a wonderful Friday evening as we approach the final weekend of 2023.

Atlanta Hawks

Tonight, the Atlanta Hawks faced the Sacramento Kings, unfortunately falling short 117-110.

Jalen Johnson played his first game back in Atlanta after his late November injury. The 22-year-old has played a significant role for the Hawks, and I vividly recall him being drafted just yesterday in the 2021 draft. He has worked his way up the ranks and is now a starter for the Hawks.

"He’s a smart player. He can score, dribble, rebound, and do a lot of things. He can only help our team," said Trae Young about the 22-year-old superstar. Johnson had a commendable performance tonight, scoring 16 points on 5-12 shooting from the field and 1-4 from beyond the arc. He also grabbed an impressive total of 15 rebounds, with 13 of them being defensive. Johnson contributed with 4 assists and a block.

In the second quarter, JJ rocked the rim with a monstrous dunk that had the whole arena on its feet. Trae Young's no-look pass to Jalen Johnson created a wide-open view in the paint, and Johnson took to the air, shaking the entire court.

Trae Young had a solid game as well, dropping 24 points on 7-18 shooting from the field and 3-10 from beyond the arc. One of those threes came in the fourth quarter, with a wide-open corner shot that rattled the rim before going through the basket. Trae showcased his range with some smooth dance moves, putting up 3 rebounds, 9 assists, and 4 steals.

Dejounte Murray continued his hot streak in the first half, putting up 16 points, with 12 of those coming from three-pointers. Murray finished the game with a total of 18 points, going 7-20 from the field and 4-8 from beyond the arc. He also contributed with 6 rebounds, 3 assists, and a steal.

Saddiq Bey and Clint Capela both showcased their defensive prowess, combining for a total of 19 rebounds, 2 steals, and 2 blocks, along with 27 points for the Hawks tonight.

Falcons duo RBs Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allgeier were in attendance at the arena for the Hawks game.

The Atlanta Hawks are now set to face the Washington Wizards on Sunday afternoon at 3 PM. According to ESPN, the Hawks are favored to win at 67% to 33%, as the Wizards stand at 6-25 this season. DeAndre Hunter remains sidelined due to his respective injury. Join me after the game for a recap!

Georgia Bulldogs

Shifting gears to the Georgia Bulldogs, they are set to face the Florida State Seminoles tomorrow afternoon at 4 PM for the Orange Bowl, marking the first game of the postseason for the Dawgs. According to ESPN, the Dawgs are favored to win at 61% to 39%. This is definitely a matchup you wouldn't want to miss. For highlights and a recap, stay tuned after the game on ATL ReKap.
