Good evening, everyone! Welcome back to another ATL ReKap blog. I trust you had a fantastic Christmas, filled with joy and cherished moments with your loved ones. Let's dive straight into it.

Tonight, the Atlanta Hawks faced off against Demar DeRozan and the Chicago Bulls, unfortunately coming up short with a final score of 118-113. Jalen Johnson made a triumphant return to the starting lineup after a month-long absence due to a wrist fracture. In his comeback game, Johnson showcased an impressive performance, scoring 10 points, shooting 5-8 from the field, securing 9 rebounds, dishing out 4 assists, and adding a steal to his stats. Notably, Johnson exhibited incredible athleticism with a jaw-dropping putback in the third quarter and another from a Capela assist in the first, reminding fans why he's a vital asset to the team.

Trae Young, although unable to surpass his own and Oscar Robinson’s record of seven straight games with 30 points and 10 assists, contributed 21 points tonight on 6-17 shooting from the field, including a 3-13 performance from beyond the arch. Young's nightly trademark, the logo three, made an appearance in the second quarter. While Trae has been a standout player, his shooting percentages remain a concern. It would be beneficial to see him opt for more strategic shots, potentially improving his overall performance and contributing essential points to the team. In addition to his 2 rebounds, Young also tallied 13 assists and a steal in tonight's game.

Dejounte Murray put up 17 points, shooting 6-15 from the field and 2-9 from beyond the arch. Murray's well-rounded performance included 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 blocks, and a steal. His noteworthy first-half stats of 13 points, 5 rebounds, and a block set the tone for an impressive overall display.

Clint Capela contributed 13 points, going 5-9 from the field, and played a pivotal role in crucial plays in the paint, capitalizing on assists from Young, Murray, and Johnson.

Saddiq Bey added 13 points to the scoreboard, shooting 5-10 from the field and 2-6 from beyond the arch. Bey's defensive prowess was evident, proving to be a crucial asset to the team. Off the bench, star player Bogdan Bogdanovich excelled, scoring 22 points with an 8-21 shooting performance from the field and 3-12 from beyond the arch. Bogi showcased his skills with a standout play against Ayo Dosunmo, leaving him on skates after a well-executed pump fake.

Looking ahead, the Atlanta Hawks are scheduled to face De’Aaron Fox and the Sacramento Kings on Friday at 7:30 PM. ESPN favors the Hawks with a 62% chance of winning against the Kings' 38%.

In trade news, there are rumors of the Los Angeles Lakers expressing interest in acquiring star player Dejounte Murray. Personally, I have reservations about this move, considering Murray's crucial role in the starting lineup. Additionally, there's speculation about DeAndre Hunter and Clint Capela potentially parting ways with the team due to inconsistency and perceived risks.

Join me for a post-game recap on Friday!
