Good evening, everyone, and welcome back to another ATL ReKap blog. Let's dive right in.
In today's doubleheader against the Phillies, the Braves played an intense first game, ultimately winning 10-8. Charlie Morton took the mound, putting in a solid 6 innings. However, he faced some challenges, allowing 6 hits and 4 runs while issuing 9 walks and not managing to secure any strikeouts. Surprisingly, the Braves only struck out 2 players in the entire game.

One standout moment was Austin Riley's first-inning inside-the-park home run, a play that truly defined the game. It's not every day you witness such an impressive feat, especially from a player like Riley.

Ronald Acuña and Michael Harris also delivered outstanding performances, forming a dynamic duo. They each hit back-to-back homers in the 6th inning. Acuña secured a single RBI in the 3rd, bringing in none other than Harris II. With the score at 8-6 in favor of the Braves in the bottom of the 9th, Bryce Harper hit a two-run moonshot, tying up the game and pushing it into extra innings. Thankfully, the Braves rallied quickly, bringing in two runs from Pillar and Arcia in the top of the 10th, ultimately winning the game 10-8.

Moving on to game two of the doubleheader, Kyle Wright returned to the mound for the first time since May, recovering from a shoulder injury that landed him on the IL. Though he faced some challenges, I remain optimistic about his potential. After all, it's been a while since he last pitched, and with consistent playtime, he should regain his form in no time. Wright pitched for 3 innings today, allowing 6 hits and 6 runs while securing 3 strikeouts.

Our NL Player of the Week, Matt Olson, truly shone in this game, hitting two homers and making history with his 50th home run, a franchise record. He continues to lead the home run leaderboard, establishing himself as a pivotal player for the Braves. I'm eager to see what he has in store for us in the postseason.

Michael Harris also made an impact in game two, hitting a moonshot in the top of the 7th, bringing his season total to an impressive 16 home runs.
We'll be continuing the series against the Phillies tomorrow at 6:40 pm in Philadelphia, with Max Fried taking the mound. Fried boasts an impressive 7-1 record and a 2.70 ERA. Be sure to join us again after the game for another ATL ReKap!
Thank you for tuning in!
