Good evening, everyone, and welcome back to another edition of ATL ReKap! I hope you're all having an excellent day. Let's dive right in.
In a nail-biting match, the Braves triumphed over the Cubs once again, clinching a 6-5 victory in the bottom of the 10th inning. Darius Vines held the mound for an impressive 6 innings, conceding only 4 hits and 3 runs while striking out 2 batters. It's always a pleasure to see Vines in action, and with more starts under his belt, his confidence is bound to lead us to a successful postseason.
Michael Tonkin took over in the 7th and delivered a standout performance, striking out the side. Now, onto the NL MVP leader – Ronald Acuña Jr. – who has etched his name in history with a club of 40 homers and 70 stolen bases. A truly remarkable feat that may stand unchallenged for quite some time.

The game kicked off with a bang, courtesy of Ozzie Albies' dinger to right field, giving us an early lead in the first inning. The Braves continue to be a force to be reckoned with in the first inning, boasting an astonishing .595 slug rate.
The back-and-forth battle between the Braves and the Cubs saw both teams exchanging runs until the Braves found themselves trailing 4-3 in the bottom of the 9th. Enter Marcell Ozuna, the powerhouse DH, who launched a rocket to left center, leveling the score and tying his career-high season home run record at 37.

Our offense this season has been nothing short of spectacular, with four players boasting over 35 home runs. It's a testament to the power we bring to the postseason.
Ozzie Albies showcased unwavering determination, bookending the game with the first and final runs for the Braves. His single in the bottom of the 10th, following Acuña's 70th stolen base this season, sealed the deal, walking it off for the Braves.

With the 1st seed secured in the playoffs, there's a sense of confidence in the Braves camp. The focus now shifts to the postseason, and fans have the chance to catch the team in action during practice games at Truist Park from October 3rd to 5th. As we gear up for the final showdown with the Cubs tonight at 7:20 PM EST, all eyes will be on A.J. Smith-Shawver, who enters the game with a 1-0 record and a 4.57 ERA. His performance tonight could be a game-changer for our rotation in the NLDS.

Stay tuned after the game for my recap and the latest updates on the Braves!
