Good evening everyone, and welcome back from our short break. Tonight, we're diving right back into ReKap. It was the first game of the Braves' postseason, and unfortunately, we couldn't pull through, falling 3-0 to the Phillies.
The Phillies, who swept the Marlins in the Wild Card round, came prepared to face the Braves in the NLDS. Spencer Strider took the mound, delivering a commendable performance with 7 innings, allowing 5 hits and 2 runs while striking out 8 batters. It wasn't a bad start for the second-year pitcher, but our offense struggled, despite a six-day break to prepare for the NLDS.

I must admit, I was disappointed to see our batters unable to score, especially after the Phillies cycled through 7 pitchers throughout the game. The Braves managed only 5 hits, and it was disheartening to see the first seed, with the highest run count this season, unable to make an impact tonight.
A controversial play unfolded in the 8th inning. J.T. Realmuto was at bat, and the umpire called a pitcher's interference, despite Sean Murphy having no contact with the ball. The Braves even challenged the play, but unfortunately, there wasn't enough evidence to overturn the call, resulting in the Phillies scoring their 3rd run with the bases loaded. It was a tough moment, as the umpires had clear proof that Murphy had no contact with the ball.

Tomorrow, the Braves will return to face the Phillies in game two of the NLDS at Truist Park at 6:07 PM EST. Max Fried will be taking the mound, coming in with an impressive record of 8-1 and a 2.55 ERA. Join us after the game for a recap of this crucial NLDS match, as well as highlights from the Falcons' game.
Speaking of the Falcons, they'll be going up against the second overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, C.J. Stroud, and the Houston Texans. Both teams are currently 2-2, making this a game worth watching. Desmond Ridder remains QB1 for the Falcons, and we're eager to see if he can redeem himself tomorrow at 1 PM EST.

In college football action, the Bulldogs faced the Kentucky Wildcats tonight, extending their undefeated streak to 6-0 with a commanding 51-13 victory. Carson Beck took the reins as QB1, showcasing an impressive 28/35 completion rate for 389 yards and 4 touchdowns. He did have one interception, but it didn't overshadow his stellar performance.
Daijun Edwards carried the ball 9 times for 54 yards, while Kendall Milton had 8 carries for 57 yards, scoring a crucial touchdown for the Dawgs. Brock Bowers had yet another standout night, tallying 7 receptions for 132 yards, and contributing to the Bulldogs' impressive touchdown count. Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint also shone with 4 receptions for 99 yards and a touchdown. Receivers Rara Thomas, Oscar Delp, and Andrew Paul each found the end zone as well.

Next Saturday, the Bulldogs are set to take on the Vanderbilt Commodores at 12:00 PM EST. Be sure to join us after the game for a detailed recap of the action-packed match!
