Good evening, everyone! I hope you're all enjoying a fantastic night after witnessing the Braves' impressive sweep of the Chicago Cubs just moments ago. With this victory, the Braves have secured the best record in MLB, now standing at an outstanding 103-56. This means they will have home-field advantage throughout the World Series, owning the coveted home-field advantage.
In today's game, the Braves triumphed over the Cubs once again, with a final score of 5-3. A.J. Smith-Shawver took the mound and delivered three solid innings, allowing no hits, but conceding a lone run while striking out two. While I wish he could have stayed in longer, the 5-1 lead we had made way for Kyle Wright to showcase his skills on the field.
Wright is certainly finding his groove, pitching two innings, allowing three hits and a run, and impressively striking out four. I'm eager to see more of Wright in relief, hoping he can regain his form as we head into the postseason.

As I discussed in our previous blog, our first-inning offense continues to be a formidable force. The home run leader, Matt Olson, sent a powerful shot deep into right field, bringing in two crucial runs to kickstart the game for the Braves. This monumental home run marks Olson’s 54th of the year, pushing the team's total home runs to an astonishing 303, setting a new NL record and leaving us just five homers away from surpassing the 2019 Twins' record of 307. Olson also shattered the Braves’ RBI record previously set by Eddie Mathews, reaching an incredible 135 RBIs after this latest feat.

Our reigning rookie of the year, Michael Harris, displayed his prowess with a thunderous double to center field, bringing birthday boy Eddie Rosario home. Ronald Acuña, our reliable star, stepped up to the plate and ensured Harris wasn't left stranded on base, singling to center field and driving Harris home.
Austin Riley was a standout performer today, coming just a home run shy of hitting for the cycle. His triple, a sharp fly ball to right field, collided with the top of the wall, allowing Riley to smoothly reach third base.

Looking ahead, the Braves are set to face off against the Washington Nationals in the final series of the regular season. While the starting pitcher has not been determined yet, rest assured I'll keep you all updated with the latest information.
With the 1st seed secured in the playoffs, there's a sense of confidence in the Braves camp. The focus now shifts to the postseason, and fans have the chance to catch the team in action during practice games at Truist Park from October 3rd to 5th. Thank you for joining me in this thrilling recap. I hope you have a fantastic night, and be sure to stay tuned after tomorrow's game for another in-depth analysis!
