Good evening, avid Scoopers! Welcome back to another exciting blog post on ATL Sport Scoop with Kap. I hope you're all thriving in August as the Braves regain their momentum after a brief dry spell. Let's dive right into the latest action!

The Braves once again bested the Yankees, sealing a 2-0 victory. Charlie Morton shined with 10 strikeouts, marking his season high. He delivered an impressive 6-inning performance, conceding only 4 hits, all singles, and walking just 1. Morton's strikeouts, including an impressive takedown of Aaron Judge, were a sight to behold. The highlight came from Eddie Rosario, who knocked an opposite-field homer, bringing in the game's only two runs. It's truly satisfying to witness Eddie Rosario reclaim his form, especially after his standout performance as the NLCS MVP in 2021 against the Dodgers.

Turning to our stats, the Braves currently boast an astonishing .502 slugging percentage, a testament to their explosive offense. Having the likes of home run and RBI leader Matt Olson in our lineup is a game-changer. Next on our schedule is a face-off against the San Francisco Giants on Friday, right at home, scheduled for 7:20 pm EST. Don't miss out—stay tuned for an insightful game recap post-match!

Shifting gears to the Hawks and Falcons, here are a few updates. The Hawks waived Vit Krejci, the 23-year-old talent drafted 37th overall in 2020. Krejci's journey included ACL rehab, and he played 30 games for the Thunder in his rookie season after signing a multiyear contract with them.

Moving to the Falcons, a noteworthy update arrived on Wednesday: Cordarrelle Patterson won't partake in the preseason due to a soft tissue injury. However, expectations remain high for his regular-season role as a starter in the backfield, alongside rookie Bijan Robinson and second-year player Tyler Allgeier. On a different note, the Falcons made a tough call, placing left guard Matt Hennessy on injured reserve due to a knee injury, effectively concluding his season. Hennessy, initially the starting left guard, suffered his injury early in training camp during an 11-on-11 play. In his absence, the second-round pick, Matthew Bergeron, stepped into the first-team role and has been practicing with the top offensive line. Hennessy's additional role as a backup center might be taken over by Ryan Neuzil.

Stay connected for more exhilarating updates. Until next time!
