Good evening and welcome back to another scoop on ATL ReKap. I hope you all are having an amazing Victory Day, as the Braves clinched game two of the final series in the regular season against the Washington Nationals, and the Georgia Bulldogs continue their undefeated streak with a triumphant win against Auburn, now standing at 5-0. Let’s dive straight into the action.
The Braves continue to make history, with Ronald Acuña Jr. setting the franchise’s modern-era stolen base record at an impressive 73. Meanwhile, Spencer Strider sets the club’s modern-era single-season strikeout record at a whopping 281 and secures his first 20-win season, all in just his second season in the majors. Tonight, Strider took the mound for 5 innings, allowing 6 hits, 3 runs, and striking out 7 batters. He's undoubtedly our most dependable pitcher in the rotation right now, and we'll be relying on him in the postseason. The margin for error is slim, but Strider's consistency is key to our success.

Ozzie Albies has been exceptional in the second spot in the lineup, consistently driving in runs. This evening, he singled on a line drive to center field in the 5th, bringing Acuña home. In that same inning, DH Marcell Ozuna achieved a career-high of 38 home runs, sending a deep shot to center field, bringing home Albies and Olson. In the 7th, Ozuna came up to bat again and tripled on a sharp fly ball to center field, reaching third just in the nick of time.

Tomorrow, we are set to close off the regular season at Truist Park at 3:10 PM EST. Dylan Dodd is expected to start, coming in at 2-2 with a 7.62 ERA. Let’s hope he defies the stats and finishes the regular season with a bang. Join me after the game tomorrow for a recap on both the Braves and the Falcons.
Shifting gears to the Falcons, they're gearing up to face the Jacksonville Jaguars tomorrow morning at 9:30 AM EST for the first international game of the season, hosted in London, England. RB Cordarrelle Patterson is still listed as questionable for the game, as he has yet to see the field this season due to a hamstring/thigh injury.

Now, onto the back-to-back champions, the Georgia Bulldogs. The Dawgs secured a victory against the Auburn Tigers with a score of 27-20, maintaining their perfect 5-0 record this season. Starting QB Carson Beck went 23/33, amassing an impressive 313 yards and scoring one touchdown, though he also had one interception. Beck has been a joy to watch and is undeniably a cornerstone of the Bulldogs' success this season. In the rushing department, Daijun Edwards led the way with 19 carries for 76 yards and 2 touchdowns. Brock Bowers had another stellar game, with 8 receptions for 157 yards and a touchdown. His 40-yard play was a pivotal moment that set up a subsequent score.

Turning to the defense, linebacker Smael Mondon Jr. had an outstanding game, recording 11 tackles, including a sack on the Auburn QB. CB Javon Bullard also shone with an impressive 10 tackles, playing a crucial role in the secondary. The defense applied relentless pressure, tallying a total of 3 sacks today. DB Malaki Starks secured an interception off Payton Thorne, gaining 21 yards before being tackled by the Tigers' offense. Peyton Woodring was perfect on field goals, going 2/2, and 3/3 on extra points, maintaining a 100% success rate.

Next week, the Dawgs are slated to face the Kentucky Wildcats at 7:00 PM EST. Join me after the game for a comprehensive recap. Thank you for tuning in tonight, and we look forward to seeing you tomorrow after the Braves and Falcons games.
