Good morning, everyone, and welcome back to another engaging blog on ATL ReKap. I trust you had an eventful weekend, just as I did. Currently, I find myself in Toronto en route to Ottawa. Last night, I had the pleasure of meeting and conversing with SportsNet anchor Faizal Khamisa. He is remarkably affable, and though we've had the opportunity to chat a few times before, this was our initial in-person exchange. Faizal, thank you for generously sparing your evening to speak with me. I look forward to the possibility of working alongside you someday.

Without further ado, let's plunge into the action. The Braves have etched their name in history, becoming the first MLB team to achieve an impressive 100 wins this season. Remarkably, this marks the second consecutive season for the Braves to achieve this milestone. In a doubleheader against the Washington Nationals on Sunday evening, the Braves put on a dynamic display, securing victory in one game and conceding in the other.

In the first game of the doubleheader, the Braves narrowly fell to the Nationals, with Allan Winans taking the mound. Winans delivered an admirable performance over 5 innings, relinquishing 7 hits and 2 runs while striking out 6 batters. Notably, the Braves currently lead the NL with an astonishing 299 homers. The 9th inning witnessed Sean Murphy launching an absolute rocket to dead center, clinching the game with a 3-2 score. Starter Kyle Wright took over after Winans, going for 3 innings, conceding 3 hits, and a run, and striking out 2. We hold high hopes for Kyle Wright's return to form, and we anticipate seeing him make a significant impact in time for the postseason.

In the second game of the doubleheader, the Braves triumphed with an 8-5 win, marking their 100th victory this season. Spencer Strider took the mound for 5 innings, allowing 7 hits, 4 runs, and striking out 4. Matt Olson played a pivotal role in the 4th, bringing Austin Riley home, and a throwing error from shortstop CJ Abrams propelled Olson to 3rd base. Olson's hit was a hair's breadth away from a 2-run homer. Nonetheless, it doesn't faze Matt Olson, who leads with an impressive 53 home runs and continues to add to his RBI count, holding the top spot.

Progressing to the fourth inning, Orlando Arcia's sharp line drive to right field brought Matt Olson home. In the next at-bat, right fielder Kevin Pillar sent a 409ft rocket to left field, bringing Arcia home with him. In the top of the 6th, left fielder Forrest Wall knocked it out of the park with a two-run homer to right field, once again bringing home Orlando Arcia. Arcia had a standout performance, bringing in Austin Riley and Matt Olson with a single in the top of the 7th.

The Braves are slated to face the Chicago Cubs at home tomorrow at 7:20 pm EST, with Bryce Elder taking the mound. He boasts an impressive record of 12-4 and a 3.63 ERA. Be sure to stay tuned for a comprehensive recap after the game.

Shifting our attention to the Falcons, yesterday brought an end to their undefeated streak in a game against the Detroit Lions, concluding in a 20-6 loss. Unfortunately, the Falcons were unable to secure any touchdowns, managing only 2 field goals. Starting QB Desmond Ridder completed 21 of 38 passes for a total of 201 yards, an unusual circumstance considering the absence of touchdowns. Bijan Robinson had 10 carries but only gained 33 yards, while Tyler Allgier managed 7 carries for 12 yards. Kyle Pitts made 5 receptions for 41 yards, with Drake London adding 2 receptions for 31 yards. Tight end Jonnu Smith, despite exiting the game due to an injury sustained while going up for the ball, made an impact with 5 receptions for 37 yards, even after facing a collision with a defender.

Desmond Ridder faced constant pressure throughout the game, enduring multiple sacks and losing possession once. Jessie Bates continues to stand out as a key player on the defense, delivering extraordinary performances week after week. Yesterday, he recorded an impressive 11 tackles and secured an interception.

Looking ahead, the Falcons will face the Jacksonville Jaguars in London, United Kingdom at 9:30 am EST. Remember to check in after the game for a comprehensive recap.
